Vaters.....After years of nylon tips I have been pretty faithful with the wood tips for about 2 years now. I use 2b, "Rock", 5b and power 5b models depending on what I am playing.

Vater 3A 'Fatback' wood tip - ball tip for ping and heavy shoulder for authority. Was using the Zildjian one for a while but the Vater lasts longer. I sometimes use the Vater 'Hammer' (which is a double butt end) in the left hand if the song has rim clicks in it so I don't have to flip the stick around and get a hand full of shredded wood to stop it sounding thin.

haha nice. I´ve got myself a couple pairs of promark 2b, and what a surprise when I found they´re thinner and lighter than their zildjians counterpart; the zildjian is more like a marching stick, thick and heavy. I pretty much like that, the promarks feel like a 5b to me!

i'm still using those 5a oak sticks i won in that contest years ago. of course, they weren't used for the last 2 years because i had to use stupid rod sticks. now that i can bash the shit out of my drums, they might not last much longer.
